Food: I visited there for the view and had Clear Soup —this mushroom and broccoli soup was nice. Yet, since my last visit in 2024, they have added dishes to the menu —however, the menu description in the soup section was not clear Like clear soup, for example, Loma Cafe Special Soup was without a description. Also, It’s been a while in Dharamshala, and no one has ever recommended any dish from Loma.
Vibe: Loma: The Leaf Cafe is located in Namgyal Monastery — also known as the Dalai Lama temple. When I visited, I realised things had changed since 2024, except the view. Through their terrace we could view the meclodganj, bagshu road, and village Dasalni[1] — it felt like we were viewing whole Meclod through deodar branches and leaves, unlike other places where we only view the layered mountains with terraces[2] and shades of moon peak. Also, the deodar trees were close; it felt like the cafe was one of the branches, and we were sitting and viewing through it.
But inside, they used a tibetan pattern —like Makara-tail scrolls on ceilings, pillars, frieze[3], and counters with flowers; however, it colud be leaves too, because in Tibetan motifs: a kind of leaf also has similar shape like Makara-tail, and normally craftsmen used it with flowers; however, in cafe they also used knot pattern corner knot roller blinds in all the windows, a stone carve artwork, and the Queen Anne similar style chairs with two chandelier creates royal atmosphere.

However, at that time, I think I never asked: what should I call that? Yet, I noticed my parents call a single field Gad (गाड़) in Kumaoni.

Hygiene: Cafe seems clean; the washroom felt clean, but when you enter the washroom, the men's urinal was in front of the women's washroom and between the hand basins, and when I was doing my thing there — people were waiting there to use the washroom, and I had to climb over a person to reach the hand basins. But the kitchen looked clean; however, they used a dustbin without a lid, and people in the kitchen didn’t where hairnet —even the chief.
Work: The Wi-Fi speed was nice, but still, today, not work there because it was in the Dalai Lama Temple —and people usually go there for the Dalai Lama in McLeod, so it's always crowded.
