Food: The first time my neighbour took me there, he was looking for souvenirs next to Kalchakra Temple. However, the lady was focused on chowmein; after seeing her, his mouth started watering, and that's how he found Shangri-La. And he made me try chowmein, but it tasted like street chowmein, and I felt the noodles were dead. Yet, compared to other restaurants that charge an average of 170 Rs for veg chowmein, they charge 120 Rs for veg chowmein. Their menu is affordable, but the hygiene and quality are lacking.Still, it's better if hygiene doesn't matter to you because few hype restaurants lack quality and still charge 170-200 Rs.

Vibe: Shangri-La, the mythological city in front of the Kalchakra temple — a hardwood interior, a golden Cornice [Ceiling border] with LED Pipe—in Tibetan style, down to the cornice, there is another border of cloth [ that is called “Shambu” in Tibetan], that cloth is also used in windows, the face-out shelves with Buddhist books, and everywhere an element of the Dalai Lama. But when clouds cover McLeodganj, the LED Pipe lights make the golden Cornice shine, and that shine also lights the place —at that time, its name justifies the city, Similar to a lost horizon: a beautiful; peaceful; and hidden place—not in Kunlun, but in McLeod Ganj.

Hygiene: The smell of the place, when the guy from the kitchen served us the chowmein and momos, made me feel like he was not taking care of himself —no showers — no clean clothes, and the washroom also smelled unpleasant, as if it hadn’t been cleaned in months. However, I did not visit their washroom because these 2 things are enough to judge their hygiene.

Work: Last time I was there, for 4-5 hours, and it was peaceful. However, I didn’t see any backup, and it’s hard there during power cuts.  Also,  each table has 1 socket — I felt this could be a problem when we have to charge a laptop and phone simultaneously. Also, they have only one universal socket, and the rest are 5-pin sockets: they support Indian 3-round pins (for Type: C; D; E; F; A; and B), European 2-pin, and UK 3 rectangular pins(Type: C; D; and G).
