Food: I tried their mango kombucha, veg sizzler, milk tea, blueberry cake, Tibetan butter tea, roasted vegetables, and mixed veg momo kothay. Except for their speciality veg sizzler—I enjoyed everything. I had roasted vegetables twice with Tibetan bread, but the second time they served half Tibetan bread without saying anything. Also, their kombucha was fermented in the restaurant—that's why Nick's and their kombucha taste nice, and their wheat noodles are also homemade— Although I never tried it. However, on the menu, in the noodles section, for plant-based and gluten-free, they wrote to ask for rice noodles—just we have to pay 60 Rs extra—which I find better than other vegetarian restaurants that serve egg noodles —without a clear label and description. Example: in Nick's Italian, they didn't mention in their Tibetan section that their noodles contain eggs. Even in confusion, I ordered their special chowmein, with a note to remove the egg on it —but they never told me their noodles themselves contain eggs.
Vibe: Snow Lion — the place for reflection. Suppose you’re hiking in Dharamkot and it's getting dark and quiet —but you’re still far from your home; it's never happened before. Now you're scared, yet still you're walking. And suddenly, you see a yellow and orange light, and its reflection on trees. The closer you get, the warmer and safer you feel. Similarly, our mind tricks us to feel warm and safe near yellow-orange, just like fire and sun. That same trick is used at Snow Lion by their wooden beams, pillars, tables, and chairs with yellow lighting. And on dark and rainy days: it makes us feel warm. However, they don't have a view like others —still, for me, it's the best place to reflect and write, and I didn't like it there when I was with friends. Why? First, I thought maybe it's a vintage or old vibe due to the wooden interior— But Nick's and Lung Ta's interiors are also wooden, and the other spaces have a Victorian feel, while the Skool has a tavern medieval atmosphere. Still, Snow Lion makes me reflect because it's simple: no Moonpeak and Sunset View, no shopping area, no EDM, no live music, no smoking, and no rude hosts.
Hygiene: I check their kitchen: a White floor kitchen, with a centre cooking area —front of it store things and back of it a balcony with curtains, for connecting kitchen to service area their are stairs — the restaurant is table and everything clean — but, the backside of restaurant they collect the dirty dishes in green box in service area, and once, there I saw a guy scratiching his butt. Yet, I don't have a picture of their kitchen because they didn't allow me to take one, but still, I sneak-peeked at the kitchen at that time: they were filling stocks, and there were only 2-3 guests— so the kitchen seems clean. however, their washroom is not clean becasue its common washroom of hotel and rasturant and that make me to re-think their kitchen hiygene
Work: It’s not place to create, online meetings and computer work, because they have yellowing lighting and thats not good to alertness and focus —that why I prefer place with white light and strong backup. Note: I didn’t measure their wifi speed because In my last visit whole area facing wifi issue. Also their internet provider are JIO.
